Niagara Falls State Park
The 400 Acre Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest National park in America, and frames the beauty of the World's greatest Natural Wonder.
Niagara Falls State Parkland
Established in 1885, Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest National State Park in America and has welcomed visitors from around the Globe for generations. The parkland was designed by acclaimed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead, who developed New York Central Park. Today the park is of great significant ecological value as the 400 acres of lush parkland features not only 3 majestic Falls - the American, Horseshoe and Bridal Veil Falls, but protected wildlife including the Lake Sturgeon, Peregrine Falcon, and American Bald Eagle and more than 14 rare or endangered plant species.
Niagara Discovery Center
A hands-on experience learning experience, the center is the starting point of four season guided tours of Niagara Falls State Park and home to interactive displays, a virtual elevator ride into the gorge, and a tour through the 12,000 year formation of the Falls in a panoramic multi screen theatre.
Observation Tower
The best view of Niagara Falls in New York is from the Observation Tower at Niagara Falls State Park. Perched at the side of the American Falls, the Observation deck offers an eye level view of the rushing water just before it plunges to the Niagara River below. The Tower also features glass elevators that take guests down 180 feet to the base of the Falls and to the American docks of the Maid of the Mist.
Goat Island
A small uninhabited island located above the Falls between Niagara Falls Ontario and Niagara Falls New York. Originally farm land, the acreage is named for its first inhabitants – a herd of goats. All but one was lost during the winter of 1780, and the Island became local folklore. As property of State of New York the island was developed as a piece of Niagara Falls State Park and currently includes a bridge with access to Niagara Falls New York, and is heart of the state parks recreational hiking and bike trails.
